L'exploration indépendante : Cuisine

This is a mockup of a site my students will see when they access this section of their independent exploration options in Canvas, our school's LMS.  For each suggestion there is some sort of follow-up "accountability" piece for me to give students credit, be it a reflection question or a screen shot.

Cuisine
Below is a YouTube playlist of TV shows that you can watch about cooking francophone cuisine.  Watch one of the shows and then as a follow up, try to make the dish yourself!  As a follow up, send me a photo of yourself making it or of the finished product.

In the first video, chef Leah Chase of Dooky Chase's restaurant in New Orleans, Louisiana, talks about how to make gumbo.  Just for fun, below is a picture of me eating seafood gumbo at Dooky Chase's when I visited New Orleans in 2018!

Recettes - Recipes
Find a recipe for a dish that is native to a francophone country, and then make it!  As a follow up, send me a photo of yourself making it or of the finished product.  Here are a few ideas to get you started:

-Crêpe Recipe from France
-Sombi (Coconut Rice Pudding) from Senegal
-Sister Angèle's Sugar Fudge from Québec, Canada
-Traditional Mardi Gras Recipes from Louisiana
